*NOTE: It is important that you follow these instructions carefully, the DEA requires all hazardous substances to be double bagged and labeled when shipping them to the lab, the printed form acts as your label of the specimen.
Failure to include the printed form with your unique 5 digit code on it will prevent your sample from being tested since the lab will have no reference point for the sample.
Statistical data collected is used for grant and endowment applications to establish an ongoing need for the service. *NOTICE* We can only accept samples shipped from within the U.S.A. if you are from another country we are happy to assist you in finding similar programs in your country.
F.A.Q.
How long before I see my test results?
Samples are collected Mon-Fri. and are fowarded to EU lab on Friday. Shipping takes an average of 5 days to reach the lab.
Once received at the lab testing takes 5-7 days to get back results and are posted to the site in the order they are received.
Is there a way to get my results faster?
Yes, Members that pay for Premium Membership are able to mail their samples directly to the lab.
USDTO Premium Membership cost $20 a year and comes with a free Analog Reagent test kit *while supplies last*.
Premuim Members have their samples shipped USPS Express which takes an average of 2-3 days to the EU lab.
What return address should I use if I mail my sample directly to the EU lab?
Premium Members should use the address found on the printed form for the return address if shiping directly to the EU lab and include the printed form as instructed above. This informs the EU lab that the sample is from the USDTO program.
What if more than 30 samples reach the lab a month? If mine is 31 will it still be tested?
Yes, the lab will hold your sample and it will be tested the next month when funding is released provided all the sample submission instructions were followed.
I'd like to remain anonomous, do I have to use my return address for my sample?
No. you can put the same return address as the shipping address for the U.S. location.
If shipping directly to the EU lab the U.S. shipping address on the printed form can be used for return address.
Do all the samples get forward to the EU lab?
USDTO reserves the right to forward any controlled substance to a DEA registered lab in the U.S. Most of our submissions are research chemicals, however there is funding in place to test illict drugs using existing licenced programs in the U.S. like Erowid Center.
Why do I need to put my own 5 digit code on my package if it is on the printed form?
Your unique 5 digit code not only helps the lab idendify the contents of each package before opening it also helps us direct it to the correct lab during fowarding.
What are the benefits of entering my email on the form?
Any USDTO member or anonomous submitter can put an email on the submission form and chose to receive their results privately *Premium Membership not required*. An email entered on the submission form gives us a way to notify people if there is any problem during the entire process.
What if I can't print the form? Can I still send a sample in with a hand written form?
We will except written versions of the submission form provided they include both the questions and answers. Hand written version have to be legible by the lab technicians, so do your best to write clearly (no cursive). Make sure to press the Submit button at the bottom of the form so we have a copy at the lab to match to your sample.
Can I use an email on my form other then the one on my USDTO membership?
Yes. The emails used to sign up for USDTO membership are used to receive monthly updates about the program, give aways and other promotional offers, another email can be used to receive correspondences for sample submissions.
